Professional Accomplishments

As a result of my participation in the Fall 2017 cohort of the Lakin Institute Fellows, I was honored to be included in the national publication of Diverse Issues in Higher Education. The article highlights my background and work in community colleges, focusing on my passion for student success. Click the link below for the article!

The traditional approach to attending college during the week on Monday to Friday does not work for adult students with real responsibilities. Sometimes, the traditional time frame does not work for those students as well. To help answer this need in our local community, we developed a cohort-based Weekend College program that provides an accelerated curriculum with classes offered in online and hybrid formats. Students attend classes on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings in a year, round schedule. I am proud to offer another avenue of access to adult students in the community.

Annual Registration

Slated for an official launch in February 2019, "Lazer 365" is a unique way to encourage students to remain in college for an entire academic year. We are moving away from the traditional semester-based registration to an annual registration option for students.

Elementary Schools

Children of all ages should have an equal opportunity at pursuing a higher education. Under my leadership, Onondaga Community College has partnered with four elementary schools in our service area to provide educational opportunities for students in the community.

Doctoral Support

The Doctoral Support Group was the brainchild of faculty interested in pursuing and completing the terminal degree. It was certainly a pleasure to work with other faculty in the Lone Star College System to offer tuition benefit scholarships and an annual "Grad School Expo" to employees interested in graduate study. The DSG has touched the lives of hundreds of employees across the system.
